Sharing with Family
Connect once with a QR code, then send items or Smart Binders by Secure Cloud Sharing, QR scan, or file.
What you can share
Sharing sends the details someone needs without handing over your whole vault. You can share a single item or a Smart Binder that groups related items. On the free plan you can share any item, and your default binder, by QR scan or file; sharing your other binders, and anything over Secure Cloud Sharing, is part of Pro.
Connect once with a QR code
Both people use VeraLocker. To add someone as a trusted contact, one of you shows your sharing QR code and the other scans it. Your devices agree on encryption keys without creating an account anywhere.
- 1 Open Contacts and show your sharing QR code.
- 2 The other person scans it from their Contacts screen.
- 3 The code is valid for 10 minutes and shows a countdown; when it runs out, a new one appears automatically.
- 4 Saved contacts keep working after the code expires. Anyone holding the code, including a screenshot of it, can add you as a contact until it expires, so only show it to people you mean to connect with.
Three ways to send
Secure Cloud Sharing (Pro) delivers an end-to-end encrypted package through temporary storage; it waits up to 30 days to be picked up, then is deleted automatically. A direct QR scan (free) hands an item over in person, without attachments. A .dlshare file (free) is an encrypted file you send however you like. Whichever you use, the recipient previews the share before it's added to their own vault.
Keep a shared item in sync (Pro)
When you share an item over Secure Cloud Sharing, you can turn on Synchronized. From then on, its history stays in sync for both of you: when either person logs a service, a dose, or a completed task, the other sees it. Edits to the item's details stay on each device, and binders and QR or file handoffs are always one-time copies. You can break the synchronization at any time.
Share between your own profiles
If you keep several profiles on one phone, you can add another profile as a contact from Contacts or Manage profiles, then share with it like anyone else. Multiple profiles are part of Pro.
Common sharing examples
Families often share passport expirations with a co-parent, a synchronized medication log with a caregiver, warranty details with a roommate, or pet-care tasks with a sitter.
Review before sending
Before sharing, review the item or binder contents carefully. Remove private notes, unnecessary attachments, or unrelated fields that the recipient does not need.
