Built-in Two-Factor Authenticator

Keep login codes beside each credentials, providing an alternative or backup to a separate authenticator app.

Why credentials and codes belong together

Each credential item can hold a one-time code generator alongside the username and password. When you're signing in, copy or read the current code from the same screen as the password—two taps instead of switching apps.

Add 2FA to a credential

Codes follow the standard TOTP scheme, so they work anywhere authenticator apps do.

  1. 1 Open a credential item and find the two-factor section.
  2. 2 Scan the service's setup QR code, or paste the secret key.
  3. 3 Compare the first generated code with the service's preview to confirm it matches.

How codes are protected

Secrets are encrypted inside your vault with everything else. They are excluded from AI features, and never logged. If codes drift out of step, the authenticator tracks clock adjustments so you can correct too-fast or too-slow codes from the item's detail view.

Back up before deleting the original

If you move a 2FA code into VeraLocker, you can usually no longer sign in without it. Make sure your encrypted backup or vault export is up to date before removing the code from the original authenticator.
